All About GADPA

GADPA is an Atlanta-based, not-for-profit sport shooting club that was incorporated in 2012, but whose roots can be traced back to the spring of 2005 when GADPA was originally formed as a single member, limited-liability company (formerly Greater Atlanta Shooting Club, Inc.) to sponsor defensive pistol matches in the greater-Atlanta area.   Since its formation the club has enjoyed tremendous growth and support from the local shooting community.  As a consequence of this growth, and to manage its operations more effectively, GADPA (not-for-profit) was formed in 2012 to acquire the assets and continue the operations of the club.  With the continuing support of its members, GADPA’s management believes the club is now positioned for even greater success in the coming years.

GADPA has been hosting a Monthly Outdoor Match since 2005 at the South River Gun Club near Conyers, GA.  This match is always on the 4th Sunday of the month from January to October.  The match typically consists of a seven stage course of fire and includes a wide variety of moving targets and other interesting props.  The total round count for our monthly matches is less than 200 rounds.  We also host a number of weeknight Indoor Matches at various ranges in the metro-Atlanta area.  Please look at our Match Calendar for the dates and times of the next local match.

GADPA is a volunteer sport. No one gets paid to put on the matches and no money can be made by winning one.  Without the volunteers who setup and break down the matches, there would be no sport.  GADPA is very lucky to have a team of volunteers who dedicate their time (and often money) to this sport.  So the next time you're at one of our matches and see these folks, make sure to tell them thanks for all their effort.
